Learning to scratch is still a goal of mine, but I LIVE for discovering ill transitions. I was a musician first, so I use that ear to find tasteful ways to blend melodies and drum cadences. Sometimes I come up with cool shit on the spot, but my practice hours are key. Here’s a lil mashup I dreamt up the other day. Hype I had my mini Starlight controller so I could test it on the spot.
Ended up dropping the mix that same night at @nublunyc , after @followfreelance ended their set with an EWF joint. It was a hit. Shout out to @hercules_djmixroom & @serato . I recently got my hands on this mini Starlight Controller, and Love how portable and efficient it is. I take it everywhere.
